Position: Customer Service/Shipping Administrator
Reports to: CFO
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overview: The Taylor & Fenn Company is a ferrous sand foundry with a simple goal – deliver higher quality castings and more reliable service than any other foundry. The Customer Service position is hands on and he or she must be able to work independently; prioritize and facilitate the resolution of multiple problems, questions and tasks simultaneously; and effectively communicate with customers, sales representatives and fellow employees. This is a two-function job. From the time you begin work, until around 2:00 PM you are functioning as customer service. From then on, you will transition into the Shipping Administrator role ensuring the shipments for the day are accurately scheduled and picked up.
Required Skills:

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Written and verbal communication skills

- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Previous customer service experience a plus
Responsibilities:
Office Administrations
- Direct incoming phone calls
- Greet visitors
Order Entry Processing
- Research customer status
- Verify all aspects of the items ordered
- Enter orders into computer
- Follow-up on orders placed on hold
- Modify orders as needed (i.e. customer changes, etc.)
Create Job Orders (as needed)
- Update job orders for mold dates
- Process scheduled job order tickets
- Re-print job order tickets as needed
Quoting
- Provide casting quotes to customers with price and lead time for existing and new work
- Work with outside vendors and internal pattern shop to provide pattern quotes
Interdepartmental Communications
- Work with personnel from other departments to obtain information needed to accurately process customer orders and respond to customer inquiries.
Mainly:
- Quoting Department
- Production Dept
- Quality Control Dept
Customer Communications
- Questions regarding purchase order received
- Request additional information needed
- Updated shipment dates, if required
- Respond and follow-up customer questions and issues
Shipping
- Schedule shipments to customer specifications
Other tasks as assigned
